The Ferretti Group, one of the world leaders in the design, construction, and marketing of motoryachts, had an impressive fleet of 50 yachts, including two world and three Italian previews, at the 49th International Boat Show in Genoa, which came to an end yesterday.
At the Genoa Boat Show, Ferretti was present with a 7,000m2 stand to represent the nine brands under its umbrella: Ferretti Yachts, Pershing, Itama, Bertram, Riva, Apreamare, Mochi Craft, CRN and Custom Line.
The five new models in Genoa are the two world previews Ferretti 740 and Itama Fifty and the three Italian previews Ferretti 560, Bertram 540 and Riva 86′ Domino. Read the rest of this entry »

Italy’s largest yacht makers are resisting the price cuts started by overseas rivals and will target wealthy consumers by offering more services and eco- friendlier vessels.

« Whoever is cutting prices heavily is committing suicide, » said Paolo Vitelli, Azimut Benetti Group chief executive officer, in an interview at the Genoa Boat Show, which started on Oct. 3. « The buyer would probably think you have a product that loses its value quickly » if you resort to price cutting, he said.
Yacht makers are suffering after international boat sales fell about 30 percent last year and some customers canceled orders amid the worst recession in six decades. Read the rest of this entry »

During the traditional Ferretti Group Meeting, at its seventh edition this year, the Ferretti Group presented the preliminary 2009 results for the nautical year ending at 31st August 2009. Although the year was characterised by a particularly negative macro-economic situation, the Group performed better compared to the nautical market trend.
