The word ‘Origami’ is being termed to the Japanese art of folding paper into shapes to represent objects.

Inspired by  this awesome art, an Italian designer named Fabio Federici conceptualize a Superyacht out of it. In fact he won the Millennium Yacht Design Award for this design.

On a quick glance, you may be thinking it is just simple box but once it expands into a sleek speed machine. Furthermore, it comes along with an ingenious multi-functional deck and “folding wings.” With this innovative design, its price also equates with its awesomeness. Adam Voorhees has unveiled the designs of a 66-meter yacht that connects luxury, sustainability and nautical lifestyle.

Dubbed Ra, the superyacht explores transformability of space and interactions with light to reinforce the connection with the marine environment.

The vast main deck of the yacht serves as a multifunctional area that transforms for informal living or formal entertaining. The guest suites have been elevated above the main deck to offer prestigious accommodations with phenomenal views of nature.

U-010 Undersea Yacht, the boat that boldly goes underwater

From inside it looks like a swanky bachelor pad, kitted out with an abnormally large aquarium. But, this is no fashionable New York apartment, rather the latest in sub-aquatic luxury — a cruise yacht that doubles up as a submarine.

Lamborghini is no stranger to the water. In addition to producing some of the most desirable supercars ever to grace green tarmac, its marinized engines have hit blue water as well in offshore racing powerboats. But so far, the exotic Italian automaker has stopped short of designing its own yacht. Leave it, then, to a budding young designer to pick up the slack.

The brainchild of Italian transportation designer Mauro Lecchi, this Lamborghini yacht design borrows elements from iconic Lamborghini supercars and applies them to a 50-foot powerboat design. The theoretical specifications call for carbon-Kevlar construction to keep weight down, and a range of engine options from twin 700-horsepower Volvo Penta turbo-diesels to triple Lamborghini V12s. The designers at Mercedes-Benz will be styling other products in the future, including yachts, the company says.

The portfolio of the newly established « Mercedes-Benz Style » division will comprise not only transportation-related products but also furniture and lifestyle products as well as industrial design, the company said on its Web site.

« In accordance with the original meaning of our trademark the ‘Three-Pointed Star’ – mobility on land, on water and in the air – it is possible that the portfolio of Mercedes-Benz Style will include the styling of boats, aircraft, helicopters and other transport products, » according to the company.
