Employment and Contracts

The jurisdiction from which crew are employed and paid from is important. Choosing the wrong jurisdiction could result in less income for the crew and more expense for the employer.

The Döhle Yacht Crew Employment Service provides the solution.

Döhle Yacht Crew Employment Service are supplied using a standard BIMCO (Baltic and International Maritime Council) ”CREWMAN A cost plus fee” contact and modified to suit each clients’ requirements.

A CREWMAN B “lump-sum” contact could be considered should the client wish to accurately budget crew costs throughout the year.

The seafarer’s employment contract will be written on terms agreed between the employer and the captain and/or owner. The contracts compliant with current legislation and will be compliant with the Maritime Labour Convention when ratified.

An accounting system for each client is set up to maintain suitable records of costs and expenditure incurred as well as data necessary or proper for the settlement of accounts. A financial report is issued to clients on monthly basis.
