According to SuperYachtTimes.com online rankings, the 162,5 meters long ship is the biggest motor yacht in the world. The German press reported that the ship will take off in a few days from Hamburg towards South Africa. The Blohm + Voss shipyard – where the yacht was manufactured – doesn’t want to reveal any information about the ship nor the owner, due to strict fiduciary settlements. In it’s Friday issue German newspaper, Bild has published photos of the yacht, showing cinema, gym and hair salon, which are all located on the yacht. According to Bild the living space of the ship is 6000 square meters. There are two helicopter landing space on it plus it’s possible to install submarine and a small missile defense system.

The number of the crew is usually 70-80 people and the estimated price of the yacht is around 340 million euros.

The Eclipse was launched for the first time a year ago and it has performed several trial runs. Apparently the yacht’s transportation and set up was delayed due to Abramovich’s extra requests regarding the facilities.
