You knew it was coming, and now here it is: the eco luxury yacht. The Orcageno is an outrageously futuristic boat currently under development by Pharos Marine, is said to be one of the first to be powered by an equally space-age fuel: liquid hydrogen.

Inspired in part by the shape of the killer whale, or Orca, the Orcageno features a propulsion system driven by hydrogen-diesel internal combustion engine, which can be operated by either fuel source. At speed of 10 knots, operating on hydrogen mode, it can reach more than 3500 nautical miles; at speed of 18 knots it can reach more than 1800 nautical miles, all without producing a spec of carbon. The minimal surface design reduces negative affects on marine life and shoreline erosion often associated with boats of its size.This aggressively-styled dreamboat accommodates 12 passengers and features such non-eco amenities as decktop swimming pool and sauna, as well as a leather-covered sunbathing area. In fact, according to Pharos Marine, you can step directly out of the dining room and enter the two-level swimming pool area bounded by a « hydraulically operated glass sunroof. » Coming soon to a billionaire near you…
