The Monaco Yacht Show is world famous for its incredible displays from the international luxury yachting sector. Esteemed Swedish boat design and manufacturing company J Craft Boats unveiled its new J Craft Torpedo luxury yacht tender at the prestigious Monaco Yacht Show on Saturday 26 September 2009.

The launch of the Torpedo sees the dawning of a new era for J Craft, with the company boosting its production on the Swedish island of Gotland in order to meet the early demand. Eight J Craft Torpedos will be ready to grace the seas in 2009 and the early part of 2010 with one boat being built each month during the rest of the year. The 12.63m J Craft Torpedo has a sprint speed of 44 knots and is powered by two Volvo Penta IPS 500 engines and transmission system which allows incredible manoeuvring sideways and through 360 degrees using a joystick. It is designed and constructed by J Craft and can sleep four passengers and one crew member.

Every J Craft Torpedo exudes elegance and a touch of extravagance featuring silver cutlery designed by Prince Carl Philip of Sweden and a Nardi hand-carved steering wheel also seen on another design classic, the Ferrari 250 GTO. Each individual detail comes together to form an unsurpassed whole, creating a boating experience unlike any other.

The first boat manufactured by J Craft, the Cabrio Cruiser, left the shipyard in 2000 and was delivered to the King of Sweden, who still uses it today. In the past nine years, only seven of the exclusive Cabrio Cruisers have been constructed for discerning customers.
